Hannibal, Ohio named as site for hydroelectric generation manufacturing facility – 40 jobs coming to the region

Voith Hydro has announced that it will open a manufacturing facility in Hannibal, Ohio. The facility will manufacture stators for the generators to be used at the run-of-the-river hydroelectric facilities currently under development by American Municipal Power Inc. (AMP).

AMP Celebrates Groundbreaking for Hydro Facility – First of five planned hydro projects

More than 150 people attended the August 5 American Municipal Power Inc. (AMP) groundbreaking ceremony for the Cannelton Hydroelectric Plant near Hawesville, Kentucky. The 84-megawatt (MW) run-of-the-river hydroelectric plant is the first of five such plants under development at existing dams on the Ohio River.

AMP-Ohio, Voith Siemens Hydro Sign Turbine/Generator Contract

American Municipal Power-Ohio (AMP-Ohio) and Voith Siemens Hydro today signed a contract for the manufacture of turbines and generators for a hydroelectric project at the Captain Meldahl Dam on the Ohio River. The $122.9 million contract represents an expansion of the Voith Siemens and AMP-Ohio relationship that is bringing significant new clean, renewable generation to the region.
